Introducing... Miss Della

...The stars shine on the ceiling and glitter rains down on Miss Della’s brown curls. She dances in time to soft sounds and her unwavering spirit fills the room. Time stands still as Miss Della shares her magic — today it’s glitter and butterflies. Everyone is together here and now; love conquers all...

The newest print from Mrs Mighetto is absolutely stunning, just as we have come to expect from the talented Swedish art duo. But she is also different than any other print they have ever created before... because Miss Della is real. "We love imagination and everything about our invented world and none of our previous characters have been based on a real person. It felt wonderful and also very frightening..."

Della was born with cerebral palsy. It was detected before she was born. Della understands and feels so much, but has never been able to speak or walk. Della’s time with her mother and father is limited. Her time with her siblings is limited. Della is one of thousands of children who are born with various disorders. She is a symbol for families that live in constant worry about their unwell child — fears that are impossible to comprehend — but, above all, that live with indescribable love for their own miracle.

Created with beautiful hearts Miss Della brings light to this condition with SEK 25 (Euro 2,5) per each poster sold goes directly to The Swedish Brain Foundation (Hjärnfonden) and its work in the area of brain disease, injury and disability. You can support this beautiful cause and purchase your own Limited Edition Miss Della print over at The Gathered Store.

Dream House

"A dream house is something to aspire to and long for. What better form could a daydream take shape in, than with something that we, as humans, already use to fulfill our imaginations: clouds"...

This stunning installation from American artist Nicki Crock has us staring skyward and thinking of home. Having moved house many times herself the ideas of home and community were very significant to Nicki. "Ignited by this interest in location and movement, I make art about domestic spaces, transition and the search for home."

Using paper and nylon Nicki has created this latest installation titled Dream House. Intricate houses float in the room on cloud like forms giving the sense of little worlds carrying on in their own space. Little homes away from home.

Fly Away with Me

Take a break and fly away with one of these very cool paintings from self-taught painter Vivienne Strauss. With a background in philosophy Vivienne is an observer and chronicler, and her paintings often focus on the humor of being human...

We love this particular collection made up of flora, fauna and little birds crammed into automobiles and heading off for a Sunday drive. The perfect little wall hangings to brighten up dull spaces.

See more of Vivienne's work over on her Etsy store.

'My Happy Place' at One Fine Baby

We were incredibly excited to launch the 'My Happy Place' charity art exhibition at the One Fine Baby show in Sydney on the 14th & 15th Nov. Alongside the exhibition we also held a pop up shop for The Gathered Store. The whole event was a great success and we were able to raise some much needed funds for the very deserving Dandelion Support Network...

The exhibition was made up of 22 amazing artists from around the world who all contributed an original print under the theme 'My Happy Place'. As well as their gorgeous artworks, each artist also created a colouring in version of their artwork which kids could colour in at our kids craft station.

One of our contributing artists, the very talented Yeka Haski also created a wall of colour-in wallpaper for children to enjoy.

We will continue to sell the prints online through The Gathered Store until christmas so make sure you head along to check out these fantastic prints and snap up some Christmas presents.

We would like to say a massive thank you to our amazing sponsors who helped bring the exhibition to life:

- Civic Copying for printing all the gorgeous prints.
- Blacklist for the lovely frames.
- 8 Foot Walls for printing the colour-in wallpaper and 'My happy Place' wall.
- One Fine Baby for their contribution.

And thanks to all the brands who took part in the series of giveaways we ran in the lead-up to the show to help raise the funds needed to make it happen: anais & i, Budu Baby, Kuku Kid, Talo Interiors, Laikonik, The Childhood Store, One Hundred Percent Heart, Piu Pia Baby, Sunday In Color, Lilly and lolly, Alfie Wild, Fanny and alexander, Hide & Sleep, Natti & Natti, My Messy Room, Spot Kids, Little Bambinos, Frankie & Frenchie, Luv Mother, Jacob and Bonomi.

As well as the exhibition, we held a pop-up shop for The Gathered Store. It was exciting to see all our products out there in the real world and we got some great feedback from our lovely customers.

An enormous thank you must go to the ever amazing Nicola of Concrete & Honey who helped style our store. Not only does Nicola offer styling and photography for up and coming brands, she is also available to help bring trade show stalls to life and we can highly recommend her.

We also want to thank Mocka who provided the gorgeous black Sonata children's bed and white Amalfi Cot to use in our stand, both of which they kindly donated to the Dandelion Support Network at the completion of the show to go to children in need.

And and extra thank to the lovely Peachy Baby for the gorgeous kids clothing rack which added an extra touch of amazing to our store.

Though our pop up shop was only up for the weekend, you can continue to shop the products online at The Gathered Store.

'My Happy Place' - Pete Cromer

Simple shapes with stunning colours can create a spectacular effect when manoeuvred in just the right way. There is no one who does it more masterfully than the very talented Pete Cromer. Pete is a designer, illustrator and one very happy art creator. He hails from the Surf Coast of Victoria and we are truly honoured to have an original artwork by Pete in the 'My Happy Place' Art Exhibition in support of the Dandelion Support Network...

We caught up with Pete to find out more about his colourful world...
What inspires you?
I’m inspired a lot by my friends and family, the people I love. I’m driven by the feelings and emotions I get from them, mainly happiness. This is a starting point for all my work; it inspires the shapes and colours I then create.

How did you develop your signature style?
I always struggle with this question, but It’s just how I’m wired I guess, like how a salmon knows to swim back upstream. I can’t think of any other way to explain it.

What do you love most about being an artist?
It’s a good feeling knowing that what I create can impact others in a positive way. I also love that my life doesn’t have any routines or boundaries these days.

What do find most rewarding about using your art for a good cause?
I’m just happy to help where I can.

What was your favourite thing to do as a kid?
Draw and explore. The world of fantasy is the best. I love strange creatures and beings from other worlds. I would draw them tirelessly. I was always lost in my imagination.

What is your 'happy place’?
Puppies!! The thought of them instantly sets off crazy happy bursts. They’re happy, infectious, exciting, energetic and smile making critters that force you to throw away your adult persona and speak in a totally nonsensical language. Who doesn’t love puppies! The more the better…. hey! yeah!

Check out more of Pete Cromer's stunning artwork over on his website.

To get your hands on his amazing print (as seen above in the hero image) created exclusively for the show head along to One Fine Baby Sydney from 14-15 November or head over to The Gathered Store.

'My Happy Place' - Papermint Studio

When it comes to statement monochrome prints, Papermint Studio is where it is at. A delightful brand from Auckland, New Zealand, the wonderful Otis from Papermint is set on showing the world just how cool paper can be, one quirky design at a time. We are very flattered to have an original artwork from Papermint Studio in the 'My Happy Place' Art Exhibition in support of the Dandelion Support Network...

We recently caught up with the creator to find out more about her beautiful design...
What inspires you?
The nature of New Zealand, children’s books illustrations, art and music. And my two wonderful kids of course!

How did you develop your signature style?
As you can tell, my works are quite quirky and bold. I always start my artwork with a simple geometric shape and just build things onto it. I love to experience with different texture and medium.

I don’t scan and trace my drawings, so most of the final work looks quite different from my original thoughts. It often surprises me at the end... And that’s the part of the fun!

What do you love most about being an artist?
I think I just love making things and express myself through my artworks. It makes my day to just imagine these little artworks I made are hanging in some other kids' rooms or putting a smile on someone’s face.

What do fine most rewarding about using your art for a good cause?
It’s about doing what I enjoy and helping others at the same time.
What was your favourite thing to do as a kid?
I liked drawing different characters and makeing up stories for each of them.

What is your 'happy place'?
My true happy place is deep inside: a mini concert in an open field filled with my cute little characters. It’s somewhere I can rest and feel warm and relaxed. It’s full of art and inspiration.

Check out more of Papermint's gorgeous artwork over on her website.

To get your hands on this amazing print created exclusively for the show head along to One Fine Baby Sydney from 14-15 November or head over to The Gathered Store.

'My Happy Place' - Miniwilla

Black, white and awesome all over… we are smitten with the beautiful monochrome artworks of Swedish design duo Miniwilla. Boasting a fantastic range of posters that are elegant, playful and perfect for kids bedrooms we are very flattered to have an original piece created for our 'My Happy Place' Art Exhibition in support of the Dandelion Support Network...

We caught up with the team to hear more about the awesome piece they have designed for this amazing cause...
What inspires you?
My kids, friends, family, traveling, music, internet, running, books, having fun. My eyes (and ears) are always wide open when it comes to discovering inspiration, I can´t switch it off.

How did you develop your signature style?
That´s a good question. To be honest I have no idea, I just draw things that I like, depending on what inspires me at the moment. I like it simple with a touch of humour.

What do you love most about being an artist?
Well, I love to be creative :) it makes me feel alive and free.

What do fine most rewarding about using your art for a good cause?
It is quite amazing that one can contribute while doing something you are passionate about. No one can do everything but everyone can do something.

What was your favourite thing to do as a kid?
I did everything that included a ball, and when my mom got tired of me kicking I bribed (or forced) my little sister to rearrange our rooms (that happened a LOT). Now days I have to bribe my hubby.

What is your 'happy place'?
When my house is clean and tidy, like an hour a week that´s my happy place. But actually it´s not the place that makes me happy it´s the people that surround me.

To check out more of her amazing work, head over to her website.

To get your hands on this amazing print (As seen above in the hero image) created exclusively for the show head along to One Fine Baby Sydney from 14-15 November or head over to The Gathered Store from the 14th November 2015.

'My Happy Place' - Nynne Rosenvinge

Nynne Rosenvinge is a Danish artist who makes extremely beautiful illustrations and paintings which are characterised by being quite minimalistic, often non-figurative and contemporary. They always feature serene colours and pretty details that make them a sweet addition to any space...

We are so proud to have an original artwork from Nynne Rosenvinge as part of our 'My Happy Place' Art Exhibition in support of the Dandelion Support Network.

We caught up with Nynne to find out more about the gorgeous piece she has created to support this important cause...
What inspires you?
It sounds like a cliché, but basically everything. It could be my daughter’s pastel coloured drawings, simple graphic street art or patterned fabric from a piece of clothing.

How did you develop your signature style?
I am not sure, actually. I have often been told that my style is very characteristic but I do not seek to make only one expression but somehow, I always end up creating something which is very “Nynne-ish.

What do you love most about being an artist?
I love the freedom of expressing myself creatively and the fact that I am actually making a living of what I love to do, is even better.

What do fine most rewarding about using your art for a good cause?
It is of course quite fulfilling to create something that makes other people happy. And hopefully my contribution will generate a profit that can help kids in need.

What was your favourite thing to do as a kid?
I just loooved to create all kinds of objects. My first “creation” was in 5th grade when I made bracelets for my friends in school.

What is your 'happy place'?
My happy place - or rather my happy moment - is when I am together with my daughter. I enjoy just lying next to her when she tells me about her day. She always makes me laugh and touches my heart - that is my happy place…

Check out more of Nynne's gorgeous artwork over on her website.
