Little Spaces - Finn's Room

Finn's gorgeous room is filled with calm. Wanting to create a neutral space that would grow with him, Finn's mum Heather used a muted colour palette and filled the room with beautiful pieces that wouldn't date. From the white walls and open space, to the muted tones and subtle prints, this space is the perfect place for little Finn to relax and dream...

We asked Finn's mum Heather a few questions about his very cool room:
How would you describe Finn?
He’s a little string bean, tall and lanky like his dad. He’s full of energy, always smiling and on the move. He enjoys eating his books and finding lint balls under cabinets, as well as sliding around in the bathtub and banging on the piano. I don’t know if these are boy things, but I know he is all boy, and I love it.

What sort of space were you trying to create when setting up Finn's room?
We kept it very neutral since our house is not that large and Finn may have to share his room with any future siblings. To that point, I wanted minimal pieces that would fit for any gender and age later on, and all I was seeing during my pregnant pinterest binges was clean, Scandinavian design, which really resonated with me. As he collects more books and toys though, more color enters the room and helps liven it up.

What is your favourite thing in Finn's room?
My favorite thing in his room is definitely the original pencil illustrations by Amelie Fontaine; I bought three pieces from her once I tracked her down.
Where did you collect the pieces in his room?
I purchased everything online or through Etsy. I visited Little Bean in Dallas for a few other plush toys and clothing items.

Little Spaces - New Nursery

The owner of this gorgeous pastel palace hasn’t even touched down on planet earth yet, but she already has one of the prettiest rooms in the universe. Humble neutrals are brought to life with fun pastel hues and a carefully curated collection of bright furniture, frames and cuddly friends. From the moment you set foot in this amazing nursery you feel refreshed, relaxed and more imaginative than ever before...

We asked mum Kate to us more about preparing the nursery for the lovely new arrival...
What sort of space were you wanting to create for your new nursery?
We wanted to create something calm and girly without being too "pink" . It was important that it would not be able to grow with her too.

What is your favourite thing in the nursery?
I have always loved the Fine Little Day pear print so this was the first thing I collected for the nursery and definitely a favourite . I also love the Yarning Made heart blanket .

You have used a lovely soft palette for the nursery, what drew you to these colours?
We are waiting on a Kalon studios Pink Caravan cot to arrive so I wanted to use soft colours that would work well with the colour of the cot as this will be the focal point.

Where did you collect most of the pieces in this room?
Leo and Bella, Kids Caravan Webstore and Collected by Lee Ann Yare.
What does big brother Jack think of the lovely nursery and the arrival of his new little sister?
He loves to go in there - he things the bassinet is a tunnel and I often find him hiding under it! He knows there is a baby in my tummy and gives her lots of kisses so i think he will love her to bits (well I hope so!)

If this nursery isn’t enough to make you start drooling rainbows, check out brother Jack’s room just down the hall. Now that is certain to tip you over the edge into a deep lagoon of home envy.

The Brouk Sisters

As sisters ourselves we love the fact that a fellow sister squadron is behind gorgeous children’s brand 100% Brouk. Lior & Paz are the Brouk sisters and they create organic everything. From baby blankets and pillows to stroller liners and accessories, these sisters have you and your little person covered. And covered in style may we add...

The girls have created two adorable animal characters – Philippe the cat and Oliver the hedgehog - to characterise their entire collection and at the same time, create a loving friend for your child.

We all know how little ones get attached to blankies. Genius!

“The blankets and pillows can go with your child anywhere, and give them the familiar and reassuring feeling of a good friend that is always there for them” say the girls.

All of their products are made with 100% organic cotton, and they are soft and cuddly for little hands and cheeks.

Even better, each design has been put to the test with real children before being rolled out so you can be sure they will be a hit with your kids.

Check out their entire range here.
