Little Spaces - Christian's Room

Christian is one very lucky little lad. The proud owner of this inspiring and fun space he is free to roam and play in here to his hearts desire. We have no doubt you'll love his room as much as we do...

We asked his mum Karen a few questions about his cool room...
How would you describe Christian?
Christian is 4 years old and has an incredibly larger than life personality, he is very animated and can tell a story or a joke brilliantly. He also loves singing and music really is one of his great passions. (He knows most Doors songs by heart) haha.

He also has a very endearing sweet side and loves to read and play with his playmobil people. Most of all he is kind and loving and he tells me 100 times a day how much he loves his family.

What sort of space were you trying to create when setting up Christian's room?
When I was designing his room I tired to create a space that was playful, inspiring and creative. I really hoped it felt magical and free and that it would encourage his creativity and make him want to learn and explore further.

I was also mindful that it was his bedroom so it had to be calm and cosy at the same time.

What is your favourite thing in Christian's room?
My favourite thing in his room at the minute is the lighting. The Ferm Living car light and mushroom and bunny lights have a magical effect and at night the room takes on a whole new softer, calmer ambience.

What is Christian's favourite thing in his room?
Christian's favourite thing is his room is his collection of teddies and soft toys.

Where did you collect the pieces in his room?
I have been collecting for Christian's room for many years and most of the pieces are from online shops and some smaller pieces are from our travels. Every year for his birthday I try to purchase a design classic that he can keep and hopefully enjoy (or sell haha) when he is older. I usually buy something from Rosendahl as I love their wooden toys.

Where is your favourite place to shop for kids?
My favourite places to shop are mostly online, I love The Kid Who for their brilliant range of quirky toys and fab service and This Modern Life has amazing brands and service also. The Pippa and Ike show and Cissy Wears are great for picking up unique items for kids.

Made In Design and the Goodhood Store are also great and I have bought some real treasures here. For kid's clothing, Monkey Mccoy has a great range of beautiful clothes, we love Soft Gallery and Mini Rodini at the minute.
